About The Fellowship
A Mission That
Matters.

The Language and Learning Foundation (LLF) works with state governments across India to transform how children learn to read, write, and count. We are now inviting the world’s most promising emerging scholars to join us β€” not as observers, but as architects of change.

The LLF Fellowship is for those who want to go beyond academic study β€” to wrestle with real problems, build real solutions, and leave a measurable mark on one of the most important challenges of our time.

πŸ”

Reimagine What’s Possible

Bring fresh global perspectives to India’s public education system and challenge assumptions about what works at scale.

⚑

Lead With Autonomy

You won’t be handed a script. You’ll be given a problem and trusted to drive it β€” from diagnosis to implementation.

🌱

Grow Through Doing

Embed with expert teams, travel to programme states, and produce knowledge that shapes policy and practice.

About The Fellowship
Four Domains.
Infinite Impact.

Fellows are placed within one of four strategic domains, each tackling a distinct dimension of the education reform challenge.

01
Strategy
Drive high-stakes strategic planning, partnership design, and systems reform across LLF’s state government programmes. Your work will directly influence how millions of children are taught to read.
02
Research
Design and lead rigorous mixed-methods studies on foundational literacy and numeracy. Generate evidence that informs national policy and contributes to the global knowledge base on learning outcomes.
03
Multilingual Education
India’s classrooms are a mosaic of languages. Develop and test evidence-based approaches for mother-tongue and multilingual learning β€” work that sits at the intersection of linguistics, policy, and equity.
04
Tech & AI
Apply data science, machine learning, and AI tools to improve learning measurement, programme monitoring, and instructional design β€” pushing the frontier of what technology can do for foundational education.
