Deepak Kumar is a District Academic Coordinator with a background in teacher education, professional studies, and educational studies. He possesses expertise in areas such as children’s educational quality, literacy and numeracy, children’s rights, and child protection (POCSO).
With 15 years of experience in the education sector, Deepak has held various roles in organisations including Pratham Education Foundation, Educate Girls, Jan Sahas Foundation, Child Fund India, IRMA, and currently, the Language and Learning Foundation. His experience ranges from direct teaching to team management and academic work, including cluster coordination, block coordination, district coordination, and state academic coordination.
In his roles, Deepak has effectively managed teams of 25 to 30 people, focusing on result-based work, content development, module creation, booklet production, and training. He has also established institutional dialogue with stakeholders in the education department at the state and district levels. His engagements include communication with various educational authorities such as GEM, SRG, DEO, DPC, APC, BEO, BRCC, ABRC, and CAC, as well as conducting seminars and panel discussions for teachers.
Currently, Deepak is involved in teaching a one-year language teaching course for teachers and serving as a District Academic Coordinator in collaboration with DIET and teams at the block and district levels for professional development. He is actively engaged in capacity-building initiatives.
Deepak identifies honesty and prudence as his core values and is dedicated to promoting constitutional values. He aims to contribute to positive changes in the educational landscape, particularly benefiting marginalised groups.
In his leisure time, Deepak enjoys reading literature, spending time with his family, and observing nature.
