First National Conference on “Factors of Poor Learning: Challenges, Opportunities and Practices for Learning Improvement in Socially Diverse Elementary Schools of India” at India International Center, New Delhi, September 2-4, 2016 :

“To achieve the national goal of having a well-educated population across all social categories and classes, the required change has to be holistic, should include curriculum, textbooks, pedagogy and assessment, teacher education and academic support, language policies, and school-community linkages.”, acknowledged the First National Conference on “Factors of Poor Learning: Challenges, Opportunities and Practices for Learning Improvement in Socially Diverse Elementary Schools of India”, (organised in New Delhi in September, by Deshkal Society in collaboration with LLF, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, PACS, Save the Children, India and Sulabh International Social Service Organisation) The discussion pointed towards a vision of change with commitment for social justice and equity in education. Government needs to take this on as a major priority while framing the New Education Policy. This policy brief, which is the outcome of recommendations made during the conference has been presented to Hon’ble Shri Upendra Kushwaha, Minister of State, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India.

Professor A. K. Jalaluddin's Talk at LLF September 18, 2016 : “Can we change classrooms to be more learning oriented rather than being teaching oriented? A structured Professional Development course on early literacy should have an element of follow up, continuous support, networking and sharing of materials.” – Dr. A. K. Jalaludidin during his visit to our office. Dr A.K. Jalaluddin has been deeply involved with major curricular reform initiatives and formulation and implementation of education programme and policies in India. He has been providing support to several UN bodies and government and non- government schools organisation in promotion of Cooperative and Reflective classroom practices. The Charitable Trust, Network of Enterprising Educational Ventures (NEEV) founded by him in 1999, is now actively engaged in promoting cognitive instructional strategies for systemic reform in education.

Discussion with Professor Ramakant Agnihotri on "Language Teaching" 30 June 2017

The LLF team got the opportunity to discuss issues of language learning with eminent linguist Professor Ramakant Agnihotri. During the conversation several topics were discussed, such as what is the linguistic ability of children, how can we use it as a resource in the language of the language, the role of the teacher and the ways of literacy, what to read It matters etc.    


एल.एल.एफ़ छत्तीसगढ़ के पूर्व व नए प्रतिभागियों की स्वप्रेरित कार्यशाला

छत्तीसगढ़ - स्व-प्रेरित कार्यशाला   एल.एल.एफ छत्तीसगढ़ के कुछ पूर्व व नए प्रतिभागियों की सराहनीय पहल: हाल ही में 28, 29 30 जुलाई 2017 को छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य के महासमुन्द जिले में एल.एल.एफ छत्तीसगढ़ के कुछ पूर्व व नए प्रतिभागियों ने राज्य के अन्य शिक्षकों के साथ मिलकर प्रारंभिक भाषा शिक्षण को प्रभावशाली बनाने के लिए 3 दिवसीय कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया | यह एक ऐसी अनूठी  कार्यशाला थी जो पूर्णतः स्वप्रेरित थी और बिना सरकारी वितीय सहायता के इसका आयोजन किया गया | यह कार्यशाला भारत के शिक्षा जगत में एक ऐतिहासिक पहल है जिसकी चर्चा लम्बे समय तक की जाएगी कि कैसे कुछ चुनिंदा शिक्षकों ने अपने खुद के व्यवसायिक विकास के लिए बिना किसी सहायता के अपने खर्चे पर यह आयोजन किया | इस कार्यशाला द्वारा राज्य के 10 जिलों के लगभग 50 शिक्षकों को प्रारंभिक भाषा शिक्षण की बारीकियों को और अच्छे से समझने का अवसर मिला |  आप सभी  के इस नवाचार ने यह दिखा दिया है कि यह धारणा, जो प्रशासन व समाज में कई लोगो की रहती है , की शिक्षक सीखना नहीं चाहते , उनकी जवाबदेही नहीं होती है यह बिलकुल गलत है |
